“Accept the Challenge, Overcome the Obstacles, Conquer Your Fears”
High Ropes Challenge
The Heartland Spa was the first facility of its kind to offer a High Ropes Challenge Adventure Program. It offers a physical and mental challenge that is designed to help you succeed by taking one step at a time. Every step is an accomplishment from putting on a belay harness, to climbing a pole 28 feet high and traversing the triangle of elements to the final platform. From there you can enjoy a panoramic view of our surrounding country from tree top height before allowing yourself to “let go” and lean forward off the platform, soaring out 200 feet. This one-of-a-kind course was constructed by Experiential Systems, a firm of professional consultants who have designed outdoor challenge programs for an international clientele. The belay system and trained facilitators assure your safety—despite the perceived risk. The outdoor High Ropes Course is offered seasonally, May through October, weather permitting.

LOW ROPES COURSE - Refers to events that provide the groundwork and solution orientation for real life problems associated with personal relationships and occupations. These elements also provide the participants with an opportunity to try something new, develop group communication and awareness and develop trust in their peers and staff facilitator. The nature of the low elements encourages creative problem-solving. Participants discover they are capable of tasks they never thought possible. Conquering low elements is a suitable preparation for the high elements.
